On the afternoon of May 16, 2024, Dr. Franco M. Cabrerizo, Chair of the Young Affiliates Network (TYAN) of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), visited our library. TYAN, originating from the “TWAS Young Affiliates” program in 2007, was formally established in 2016 to recognize top young scientists from developing regions. The meeting included staff from the Science and Technology Management Department and the Open Science Research Center.
Chairman Cabrerizo provided a detailed overview of TYAN’s development history, as well as initiatives and achievements in supporting research in developing countries. Both sides discussed open science, TYAN community building, APCs, preprints, and publishing research results.
Both sides look forward to future cooperation in open access cost research, helping researchers from developing countries publish papers, promoting our open science platforms in the TYAN community and developing countries, participating in each other's conferences, and mutual visits.
