The Fourth Special Library Youth Forum Successfully Held in Zibo

  The Fourth Special Library Youth Forum was held in Zibo, Shandong from August 15 to 18, 2023. The forum was jointly organized by The Branch of Special Libraries, Library Society of China (CSLA), the Information Technology Specialized Committee of the China Society for Scientific and Technical Information(CSSTI), National Science and Technology Library(NSTL)National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences(NSLC), the Library of Shandong University of Technology(SDUT), and the Information Management Research Institute of Shandong University of Technology. The theme of the conference was “Igniting, Exploring, and Breaking Boundaries: The Empowering Force of Youth in Library and Information Science Amidst the New Development Paradigm”. More than 180 young scholars attended the conference.

  Young scholars and young librarians are the backbone of China’s library community and are the new force to drive the innovation and development of libraries. This forum aimed to exchange and discuss the role and tasks of young talents in the inheritance and development of libraries.
  The conference organized 4 young forums, focusing on the themes of “Science and Technology Text Mining and Semantic Analysis”, “AIGC and Knowledge Service”, “Science and Technology Evaluation and Semantic Evaluation”, and “Research and Practical Application of Library Science”. More than 80 young scholars and graduate students made group reports and discussed with the attendees. At the same time, the forum also organized 4 poster flash exchanges, where representatives from all over the country efficiently and deeply exchanged and discussed cutting-edge issues related to library and information. In the young expert thematic exchange session, 11 young experts were invited to make thematic speeches.
