On May 27, 2024, SCOAP3 (Sponsoring Consortium for Open Access Publishing in Particle Physics) Specialist Seminar was successfully held at the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The conference was sponsored by the National Science and Technology Library and Documentation Center (NSTL) and jointly hosted by the National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NSL), the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Institute of HEPs) and the High Energy Physics Branch of the Chinese Physical Society (HEPs Branch). The conference brought together more than 70 domestic and foreign experts and scholars from nearly 30 institutions in the field of high energy physics to conduct in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as open academic exchanges, international cooperation and development in the field of high energy physics, and the future development of SCOAP3.
The participating experts carried out a heated discussion, and agreed that SCOAP3 has effectively controlled the cost of academic publication through international cooperation, helped the development of China's high energy physics discipline, and supported China to continue to participate in the future development of SCOAP3 and play a greater role in the international academic exchange arena.
