On September 16, 2023, The 7th Theme Forum of the 2023 Chinese Library Annual Conference— "Chinese modernization and high-quality development of special libraries”, co-organized by The Branch of Special Libraries, Library Society of China (CSLA), National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences（NSLC）, and the National Science and Technology Library（NSTL）, was held in Zhengzhou, Henan. The forum focused on the Chinese-style modernization and the high-quality development of special library services. Experts from China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, public libraries, universities, and local special libraries made 8 keynote presentations.
Through this forum, the participating experts jointly discussed the new tasks and requirements that Chinese-style modernization poses to special library and information institutions, explored the functional positioning and development strategies of these institutions, and exchanged views on new technologies, methods, and practices for the integrated development of libraries and information institutions in the digital environment. All special libraries will take the opportunity of Chinese-style modernization construction, strive to seize opportunities, meet challenges, and write a new chapter for the new development of China’s special libraries.
