In 2016, NSTL established ChinaXiv, a preprint platform for scientific papers of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to support academic exchanges in related research fields. There are 16,400 papers on the platform, with more than 2.9 million visitors and 16.16 million downloads.

The participants in the conference gathered around the development trend of international preprints and academic exchange, key issues in the construction of Chinese preprint platform, and in-depth exchanges on policy, theory and practice related to preprint platform, based on respective professional fields, put forward many opinions and suggestions on the construction and development of preprint platform. For the construction of ChinaXiv and China's preprint academic communication system further clear direction and goal.

The ChinaXiv Project Team will carefully summarize and draw on the results of the conference, expand ideas, build consensus, and strengthen cooperation, and strive to enhance the construction level and international influence of ChinaXiv, and build ChinaXiv into a national infrastructure that supports domestic and foreign academic organizations to build a new type of academic exchange system.
