The report will promote mutual understanding in S&T aspects among the Belt and Road countries, and then finally have a certain referential value to organization of S & T interaction and in-depth researchcollaboration.
The report trys to reveal the S&T developmentand the characteristics of scientific collaboration forthe Belt and Road areas and countries. The quantitative result shows that China is the main force in the Belt and Road research and China's collaboration with Central Asia and Russia has been widely concerned. The scientific research output of the Belt and Road countriesdiffers significantly in capacities and scale, whichdemonstrates an uneven distribution. The overall scientific research input and output efficiency of Asian countries is lower than that of central and Eastern Europe. The scientific research papers from 18 countries in Western Asia have relatively great influence. The degree of international collaboration among the Belt and Road areas and countries varies greatly, and the proportion of sole-country-publications is high. The density of the Belt and Road collaborationof Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Egyptis high and the Belt and Road collaboration plays a dominate role in their international collaboration. China locates in the center of the Belt and Road collaboration network.Every country along the Belt and Road has its outstanding subjects and Inferior subjects, and can establish the scientific research collaboration goals and choose the fields of scientific research collaborationaccording to the strategic requirements of scientific research development.
We are confident that encouraged by the Belt and Road Initiative, the collaboration between the Belt and Road countries will be more in-depth and is aimed at mutual benefit and collaboration innovation.
