Since National Science Library , Chinese Academy of Sciences was established in 1950s,the library has gone through for 60 years. Due to great efforts of several generations of staffs ,lots of gratifying achievements have been created.

At the beginning of the library founded, NSL was once awarded the second-class National Science and Technology Progress Award , and other 9 awards including the Second Prize of Chinese Academy of Sciences Scientific and Technological Progress . In 2001, our library entered  the  sequence of the Knowledge Innovation Project as the scientific research supporting institutions,  "willing to support, daring to innovate" become our library’s motto. Staff has made great  effort to put innovation into  practices and  summed up the experience. The  number of papers published in the peer-review academic journals increases each year. At the same time, the English papers written academic pioneer of our library  in the major international journals and  presentations made by our librarians in a series of international conferences have also attracted much attention of foreign counterparts.

Currently , our library is undertaking about 100 projects ,including  national, provincial and ministerial departmental ,and ones commissioned by the local government  The achievement of Strategic Intelligence Researches has provided support for t decision-making by the  leaders of the states and departments ,which has been praised and awarded by the leaders.
